Brad and Belinda Greaves have always
had a love of antiques, a love that inspired them to open a series
of small businesses, each one larger that the last. Because of his
keen interest in local history, Brad became an avid member of the
Lucan Area Heritage Committee, specializing in the Donnelly's. Brad
soon became the president of the Lucan Area Heritage Committee and
has served there for many years.
In 1995 Brad and Belinda Greaves
opened their first store in their own backyard featuring a large
number and variety of antiques, mainly furniture! The business
steadily grew, and was often visited by "thrill seekers" who weren't
afraid to detour from the average roads. After a few years of
collecting more great finds the couple opened a small store on the
main street of Lucan in the spring of 2001.
Tiny and cozy the first store was a
welcome addition to the Lucan downtown core. Not long after, more
antique stores and shops sprang up, and Lucan began to prosper.
Adding to their inventory of antique furniture, Brad and Belinda
began to gather different finds and collections from all over
including Tennessee. They also began selling reproductions of cast
iron items and trademark collectibles such as Coca-Cola.
Soon realizing that they would need more
space, Brad and Belinda moved their business across the street.
The newly christened "Lucan Antique Market" housed a variety of
vendors that sold everything from dolls, to garage sale finds. The
partners soon began to supply the store with an assortment of
architectural antique pieces. As more antique stores opened in town,
the Lucan Antique Market was joined by Recollections, which opened
in their previous location.
Eventually even more retail space
was needed to house their wares, so in December of 2005 Brad and
Belinda purchased the landmark Nicholson Garden Center.
Their newest location, renamed the
"Lucan Architectural Antique Market" encompasses an acre of property

Brad and Belinda specialize in
architectural pieces including corbels, doors, fireplace mantels,
hardware, and even ironwork pieces from Egypt!
They also offer items such as retro Lawn
Chairs, and Gliders.
Many of their wares come from
Detroit, Michigan, but almost as many are sourced locally. The
business often travels to and from antique shows across Ontario
including the Odessa Show in Kingston and the Show in Toronto. The
business has also been featured in the local media, including a
feature article in "Business Monday" of the "London Free Press".
